Habitat:
Sundarbans region of India and Bangladesh.
Northern and central India and in Burma and Nepal.

Social Behavior:
Solitary and do not like to share territory with other tigers.

Breeding:
Usually have 2-4 cubs

Food:
Chital, wild boar, monkeys, guar, and buffalo

When They Hunt:
They hunt at night/nocturnal. Quick and powerful over short distances.

Conservation Status:
4,000 and still raising.
Endangered and protected species

Normal Lifespan:
15 years under normal conditions

Interesting Information:
Bengal tigers are smaller and have a darker coat than their cousins, the Siberian tiger.
Seven other sub-species in the world. The color of the coat distinguishes the species.
It can eat 65 lb. of meat in one night.
Unlike other cats, the tiger often eats meat that has begun to spoil.
Tigers are the only species of cat that can tolerate water. Ex. The Bengal tiger spends its time in water during the summer to keep cool (sometimes even hunts in the water).
